i might be going out on a limb here girls, but im pretty sure that means association, not… assassin.

Any list that has the original 2D side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. is great, in my book.  But even better is the fact that it has the original Legend of Zelda for NES.  I used to love that game when I was a kid.  I have a working SNES console with Super Mario, but Zelda is a game that I do not have.

I have a feeling I am about to waste a lot of time today.

I’m talking about Boobquake, the call from atheist blogger Jennifer McCreight for women to wear immodest clothing to test whether or not it will produce an earthquake.

“Many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes,” Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media. Sedighi is Tehran’s acting Friday prayer leader.

I’ve been reading Jen’s blog, Blag Hag, for quite some time (yes, I know I need a blog roll), so I saw her Boobquake post when it was first published.  I thought it was mildly amusing, but I had no idea that it would become an internet sensation.

No wonder so many bloggers post cleavage pics on their blogs.  The internet loves boobs.  (Hmm, I have been trying to figure out a way to boost traffic.)

What do I mean by internet sensation?  The boobquake facebook page has 38,953 attendees, as of this posting.  That’s not counting the people who were sent the page, but haven’t responded, which is over 161,000.  Tweets on Twitter with the hashtag  #boobquake are pouring in so rapidly, it’s almost impossible to keep up with.  Jen was even interviewed by Australia’s Herald Sun.  According to her posts on twitter, outlets in Canada, Ireland, Sweden, and the Netherlands were also interested in interviews and she was just e-mailed by CNN.

I’ve seen internet crazes after they have already gone viral, but it has been really interesting to see this explode right before my eyes.  I can only imagine how surreal this has been for the “Boobquake founder,” as the press has dubbed her.

The internet is amazing.

I think this latest one has passed and is hopefully our last.  It was a tough winter, especially for my 6-year-old with cold-induced asthma.

I finally LOLed last night, but it was too late to post, as it was the last thing I looked at before getting ready for bed.

Again, the LOL goes to Mr. Deity.  He always makes me laugh.

Today’s honor goes to Mr. Deity.  (Found via Pharyngula and Unreasonable Faith)  I actually watched it just so I would have an LOL to post because it always makes me laugh, usually out loud.

The first thing that made me laugh out loud was at 2:37 where he says “Remember when we talked to that Einstein guy about how E=MC Hammer.”

But I really laughed so out loud that everyone asked me what was so funny at 6:00, during the begging segment, when he said, “The bottom line is, if you like the show, get a little supertrampy on me.  Okay?  Give a little bit.”

That was so funny, I am going to go donate.

I have to give an honorable mention to the only other thing that was even funny on the internet today.  I didn’t laugh out loud, but still, it’s worth mentioning because, really, the internet was a big let down today.

Every day there is that one thing that makes me laugh literally out loud for the first time.  I always feel like I want to share that first LOL of the day.  Even though it might not be the funniest thing I see all day, that first LOL of the day holds a special place in my heart.

So, I decided that I would post the first LOL of the day, as soon as I see it, every day.  That way you can laugh, too.  Or see what an odd sense of humor I have.
